The Gimpo Aerodynamics & Thermal Testing Bay
A purpose-built 480 m³ industrial research and training facility in Haseong-myeon, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, where engineering theories are tested against live thermal loads.
Where Calculations Meet Physical Airflow Physics
Building an efficient mining facility requires hands-on understanding of how high-velocity air behaves around server chassis, cable bundles, and containment barriers.
Our Gimpo testing bay allows workshop participants to manipulate variable-frequency-drive (VFD) industrial wall fans, adjust louver opening angles, insert different filter media densities, and visually track turbulence using theatrical smoke wands.
Four Core Experimental Testing Cells
Every cohort rotates through specialized diagnostic stations under the guidance of our engineering faculty.
Modular Negative Pressure Wind Tunnel
A full-scale 12-meter experimental wind tunnel equipped with two 54-inch variable-pitch exhaust fans capable of generating up to 45,000 CFM. Participants test static pressure drop curves across various intake louver angles and filter banks.
- Digital differential manometers reading ±0.001 in. w.g.
- Theatrical non-toxic smoke pens for streakline visualization
- Interchangeable intake filter cassettes (MERV 6 through MERV 13)
120 kW Resistive Heat Load Simulator
A modular server rack housing 32 calibrated resistive heating elements that precisely mimic the heat output, internal airflow resistance, and fan curves of Antminer S21 and Whatsminer M50 hardware.
- Multi-channel thermocouple data loggers measuring rack delta-T
- Fluke Ti480 PRO calibrated thermal imaging cameras
- Hot aisle isolation barriers testing zero-recirculation seals
Acoustic Attenuation & Silencer Fabrication Bay
A specialized acoustic test booth with high-noise source generators simulating 6,000 RPM fan whine. Participants build and measure custom mineral wool splitters, sound louvers, and perforated acoustic silencer boxes.
- Type 1 precision sound level meters with 1/3-octave band analyzers
- Sheet metal cut-and-fold benches with rockwool core stock
- Real-time insertion loss and backpressure verification
Dielectric Immersion & Heat Exchanger Rig
An operating single-phase synthetic hydrocarbon immersion tank connected to an external brazed plate heat exchanger and secondary water-cooling loop.
- Flow meters (GPM) and delta-P differential fluid pressure sensors
- Immersion board preparation and fan spoofer wiring stations
- Waste-heat secondary recovery loop demonstration manifold
