Hands-on Acoustic Fabrication Lab

Acoustic Silencing & Environmental Noise Abatement Training

Learn field measurement methods for decibel attenuation, resonant frequency absorption, acoustic louver fabrication, and perimeter noise barrier construction.

Acoustic Silencing & Environmental Noise Abatement Training
Tuition / Fee
$1,250 per participant
Format & Duration
2 Days (16 Contact Hours)
Facility / Location
Gimpo Acoustic Test Rig & Anechoic Chamber

Target Participant Profile

Operators facing municipal noise complaints, suburban facility operators, and enclosure builders requiring sub-55 dBA property line limits.

Applied Engineering Competencies

  • Map acoustic sound power levels (LW) and sound pressure levels (Lp) using calibrated Type 1 sound meters
  • Identify 1.2 kHz - 2.8 kHz whine frequencies from high-pressure ASIC fans and select target porous absorbers
  • Build tuned silencer boxes utilizing rockwool, perforated galvanized sheet, and fiberglass scrim
  • Prevent static backpressure buildup on miner exhaust fans while achieving maximum sound insertion loss
  • Position natural perimeter earth berms and industrial acoustic fences for boundary compliance

Included Laboratory Materials

  • Acoustic Silencer Box Fabrication Blueprints & Cut Lists
  • Sound propagation calculation spreadsheet (inverse square law & barrier attenuation)
  • Sample swatch kit of sound-dampening composites and mineral core boards

Prerequisites & Delivery

Prerequisites: None. Suitable for all field technicians and site managers.

Delivery Method: Hands-on workshop building working silencer prototypes and testing real-time dBA reduction in our high-noise testing bay.

Register Interest or Request Cohort Schedule

Cohorts at the Gimpo testing lab are restricted to 8 engineers per session to ensure direct hands-on time with active test wind tunnels, thermal imaging equipment, and live electrical load banks.
